INDIANAPOLIS – With the holiday shopping season just around the corner, SBA is proud to support Indiana small businesses with Small Business Saturday events throughout the state. One such event is a special walking tour of Richmond, Indiana November 16th beginning at 10am.
“The City of Richmond is honored to host Stacey Poynter from the U.S. Small Business Association on a walking tour of retail and shops in the Historic Depot District and Downtown Richmond,” said Phil D’Amico, Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO. “It is a privilege to show off how the tireless work the SBA puts into supporting small businesses is critical to the continued growth of communities like Richmond, Indiana.”
“Local small town businesses represent the heart of American entrepreneurship, promise, and ingenuity,” SBA Indiana District Director Stacey Poynter said. “Small businesses are the backbone of the nation’s economy, and in Indiana, small businesses employ 1.2 million of our citizens. SBA is proud to support and promote shop local initiatives in towns like Richmond and throughout the state.”
The walking tour kicks off at Roscoe’s Coffee Bar and Tap Room, 185 Fort Wayne Avenue at 10am with a meet and greet with Richmond Mayor Dave Snow. The tour then moves through a number of retail shops such as the historic Richmond Furniture Gallery and several establishments located in downtown Richmond and the Historic Depot District.
