Story provided by the Indiana Municipal Power Agency
Amy Burris, Customer Service Manager at RP&L, was recognized in October by the American Public Power Association for her work in helping to plan the Association’s annual Customer Connections Conference. This conference provides attendees with useful information that is relevant to the day-to-day management of a public power utility. This conference focuses primarily on customer service, economic development, energy services, key accounts and public communications.
As part of the planning committee for two consecutive years, Burris served as the Vice-Chair of Customer Service in 2014 and then as its Chair in 2015. Her responsibilities as Vice-Chair and Chair included travels to Washington, D.C. each April to plan the conference, as well as brainstorm potential topic ideas and invite conference speakers. In addition to planning for the national conference, Burris also served as a moderator and presenter.
Burris has been an employee of RP&L for 20 years, and has been the Customer Service Manager since 1998. Her expertise in her field of Customer Service is a great benefit to RP&L and the customers that the utility serves. The City of Richmond and RP&L congratulate Ms. Burris on her achievements and her much-deserved recognition on a national scale.
