“This past month Wayne County was honored and privileged to have Indiana’s Governor Eric Holcomb visit our community and speak at a  Wayne County Chamber organized luncheon. The Governor engaged in a great talk show style format laying out the mission and vision for Indiana. Governor Holcomb is Indiana’s 51st Governor and no stranger to serving the state from a legislative capacity. Governor Holcomb was a Senior Advisor to former Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels, and was an integral part of helping Governor Daniels lead Indiana to and through one of the most profitable financial periods in the history of the state.  Governor Holcomb also served as the Chief of Staff to former Indiana Senator Dan Coats, as well as the Lieutenant Governor, then Governor and now U.S. Vice President, Mike Pence.

I had the chance to spend some time with the Governor during his visit here in Wayne County, and I found a Governor who is dedicated, engaged, extremely well informed on issues, driven to make Indiana the best state in the country, and a person who has a deeper love for this state than almost anyone I have ever met. When you look at your state’s governor you want to see in that person, someone who can be your biggest sales person, biggest cheer leader, and best representative for your state. I truly believe we have those qualities in Governor Holcomb. He has already been on several overseas economic development missions, seamlessly through his first legislative session with resounding reviews from both sides of the isles, and committed to saving and adding jobs here in Indiana. As a matter fact along with that mission, the Governor has identified other priorities like our roads and infrastructure, making Indiana a technology hub, fighting the war on drugs, improving life and employability skills for ALL Hoosiers, as well as increase and improve upon government services for all citizens in Indiana. He has clearly hit the ground running.

One of the best parts of the Governor is just how sincere, down to earth and genuine he is when he speaks with you. You will not meet a person who genuinely cares about your quality of life and the potential that all of us can reach here in Indiana. One of his claims to fame is that he has made a jump shot in all 92 counties in Indiana. Being an avid lover of Basketball, he is always willing to talk hoops to anyone who wishes to engage in that conversation. His love of basketball clearly has him located in one of the best spots in the country, Indiana. I guess we could say that having Governor Holcomb as Indiana’s 51st Governor is well…. A SLAM DUNK. “

Agriculture represents a $25 Billion per year revenue stream into Indiana. Our state is ranked fifth (5th)  in the country in both production and revenues. The state of Indiana has over 130,000 Hoosier workers that are registered in some fo …Read more

“When I was a kid, I used to look at July 4th as a sign that we were dreadfully halfway through the summer, and heading back to school was the dreaded foregone conclusion. When I was in my college years it signified that the Major League Baseball All-Star game (The Mid-summer Classic) was only a week away; as well as I still had a solid 6 to 8 weeks left in my beach time. Upon graduat …Read more
